The GFWC Conservation Community Service Program is designed for members to gain an appreciation of our environment. Through preservation, maintenance, and restoration of our natural resources, it strives to educate members about the importance of beautifying our communities; preserving, maintaining and restoring our natural resources; and stimulating citizen action to address these concerns. Our natural resources include, but are not limited to, water, trees, plants, air, land, and wildlife.
Repairing broken items keeps them out of landfills. NJWC has twice hosted a Repair Cafe to fix items such as furniture, appliances, and clothing free of charge. These cafes are staffed by volunteers who are skilled in specific areas. Our next Repair cafe will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2020 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Trinity Church, please check the flyer here!
Bring your items that need repair and knowledgeable volunteers will try to fix them for free. Bring small appliances, computers, lamps, bikes, jewelry, clothing, and power equipment; you only need to pay for needed parts. Save time by bringing any needed parts with you.
