Areas of Focus
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is an international philanthropic organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. The General Federation of Women's Clubs is the oldest, non-denomination, non-partisan, largest international service organization of volunteer women in the world with a membership of 10 million world-wide, in 40 countries.
GFWC is one of the world's largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational, women's volunteer service organizations. It was founded in 1890 and chartered by the United States Congress in 1901.
In accordance with GFWC guidelines, the GFWC Northboro Junior Woman's Club is organized into six Community Service Program areas, representing areas of focus in various committees. Members stay alert for new projects and organizations which need our help. Most of the club members volunteer in one or more of the committees. GFWC International offers program ideas that further focus attention in each area.
