GFWC Environment Community Service Program is designed for members to gain an appreciation of our environment. Through preservation, maintenance, and restoration of our natural resources, it strives to educate members about the importance of beautifying our communities; preserving, maintaining and restoring our natural resources; and stimulating citizen action to address these concerns. Our natural resources include, but are not limited to, water, trees, plants, air, land, and wildlife.

- Help return valuable nutrients and microorganisms to top soil?
There are currently 85 families in Northborough participating in curbside composting. The NJWC would like to add more by offering three grants to the community to help spread the word about this important service.
INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR A GRANT ?
GFWC Northboro Junior Women’s Club (NJWC) very happy to announce their first ever grant for curbside compost.

You will be entered into a drawing to win a grant for six months of bi-weekly curbside compost pick-up.
DO YOU KNOW:
Food waste makes up 30-40% of the waste stream, Food waste is the heaviest component of the waste stream and removal can save money on trash fees Compost returns valuable nutrients and microorganisms to depleted soil Compost is an ideal means to pull CO2 out of the air by growing strong plants and storing carbon in the soil long term.
