2020 STEM Conference
Regretfully, due to the current COVID-19 virus status, we have to cancel the STEM conference on March 21st.
The safety and well-being of the girls, presenters, volunteers, club-women and community are our highest priority. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. NJWC do not anticipate being able to reschedule this event this year. We look forward to another amazing conference next year. Thanks and stay healthy everyone.
The Northborough Junior Women’s Club will present the 13th Women in STEM Conference for Middle School Girls on Saturday, March 21st, 2020 at Algonquin Regional High School. This conference is an opportunity for these young women to be exposed to and experience vocations in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
After an opening keynote presentation, the girls will attend four 40-minute interactive hands-on career workshops. Presenters represent fields such as Forensic Chemistry, Pharmacy, Architecture, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Teaching, Engineering, and Medical Professions. The presenters explain what they do in their occupation, share different tips on courses of study & ways to train for their profession, and provide hands-on exploration/activities.
A luncheon follows the workshops and offers an opportunity for the students and presenters to continue discussions in a more informal setting.
To register for the STEM Conference please use this Registration Form in PDF, and use the link provided to register. Please read the description of the workshops on the following pages in the form.
Registration this year is solely on-line. Enrollment is limited to the first 250 girls. Please note that choice of the workshops is based on a first come, first served basis. We will try out best to match you with your top choices. This program has historically been very popular and always fills to capacity. Please see the description of the workshops on the following page.
